The Tamarack District Library (TDL) is currently located in downtown Lakeview next to the Lakeview Car Center on Lincoln Ave. TDL serves the citizens of Cato, Hinton and Pine Townships along with the Lakeview Community School District including portions of Belvidere, Douglass, Maple Valley, Millbrook and Winfield Townships.
TDL Board of Trustees meets monthly to conduct the business of the library. The Board is comprised of 2 members from each entity that makes the library’s service area. Normal board meetings are held on the 4 th Tuesday at the library starting at 6:00 PM.

The Friends of the Tamarack District Library is a committee of the library that works with and helps in raising funds, promoting library services, and holding events in the community in conjunction with the library. They meet the first Wednesday of the month at 9:30am at the library. The Friends of the Tamarack Library would like to invite you to join the Friends organization if you are not already a member. Adults can become a member for an annual due of $3.00 and students can join for $1.00. We also have gift certificates available. This is an exciting time for all of us and we invite you to join us as we help prepare for the Grand Opening!

TDL offers more than books to our patrons. TDL also offers movies, music and magazines for borrowing privileges. All materials except fiction movies are free of charge and available to any patron with a valid library card. Other services available for small fees include copy machine, fax machine, laminator and computer printer. The library also has an Ellison Die Cut machine to be used in the library, free of charge if you supply your own paper. The library has 4 public access computers offering Internet and Microsoft Office applications to the public. Library programming is offered for children and adults including toddler story hours, book clubs, tween activities and informational classes. TDL believes in providing knowledgeable and friendly staff. Staff members are continually learning methods and information to better equip them for their jobs. Every reasonable effort is made to provide all of our patrons with quality service.
